We love our kids like crazy, but sometimes their misbehavior triggers our fury before we know what hit us.
We may yell, threaten, shout, or shame our kids -- almost as if we've become temporarily possessed.
Most of us feel badly after these episodes and promise ourselves that the next time our child does "that thing," we'll stay calm.
But then our child does "that thing" and we lose our cool...again.
Psychologists have coined a term for it: Dysregulation.
But whatever it's called, we know it feels terrible to feel so out of control of our emotions. And we know it can feel scary to our kids, as well.
Even parents who seem to have it all together -- lifelong meditators or yoga practitioners --may struggle to stay cool and calm.
So I hope you'll join me to understand what's really going on when we lose our cool, and how you can prevent those episodes of anger that disturb feelings of peace and safety within your family.
Can't attend live? No problem; every participant will receive a link to the replay a few hours after the live class.
If losing your cool is getting in the way of being the calm, regulated Captain of the ship for your kids, I hope you'll join me!
